Production in Consideration of the Environment

We are working in various ways to reduce environmental impact not only with respect to the motor parts themselves, but also for chemicals used in production, power used to drive production equipment and machinery, and the working environments of our employees.

Use Reduction of Environmentally Harmful Substances

Hydrocarbon scrubber

Organic solvents (such as trichloroethylene) used for cleaning parts, is a chemical substance that does not decompose easily and is suspected of having ties to the onset of cancer. This is a substance causing concern in regard to the health of workers and also in relation to contamination of groundwater and soil.
Mabuchi Motor has changed its production process to one that uses an alternative substance (carbon hydride) with a low environmental burden, replacing trichloroethylene in order to completely eliminate the use of chemical substances that are harmful to the global environment and human health.

Improvement in Production Equipment / Machinery

Conventional press & newly introduced small press

The downsizing of dies and pressing machines for producing small precision components for motors has made it possible to save resources by reducing the number of parts produced and has saved space at production sites.
The floor area required for installation, power consumption and noise were reduced by approximately 75, 80 and 30 percent, respectively, affording reduced environmental impact at production sites.

Noise Prevention Measures

The Mabuchi Group takes strict noise-prevention measures based on public environmental regulations. Soundproof boxes are installed and other noise-prevention measures are taken when introducing pressing machines, air compressors and other equipment/machinery that is subject to the above regulations.

Responding to RoHS in the Manufacturing Process

Environmental compliance of parts and materials alone will not be enough.
Materials that are used in some of the production processes adhere to the products that are delivered to our customers. Such materials include machining oil and mold releasing agent used when processing parts and materials, cleaning fluid, marker pen ink, and other similar materials. Environmental pollution caused by these sub-materials was also examined, and we decided to use only environmentally-friendly ones.
