We have set our objectives under our management vision to "conduct corporate activities that promote the preservation of our earthís environment and our own human health" and "promote business activities that have minimal negative impact on the environment and that strictly abide by safety standards." Our approach to the environment as such is also embodied in material procurement activities.
Outline of the Mabuchi Motor Green Procurement System

Mabuchi Motor has specified the evaluation criteria for substances to be banned, restricted or reduced based on our own criteria in addition to laws, regulations and customers' requirements and confirms that environmentally banned substances specified according to these criteria are not contained in procured materials.
For the purpose of confirmation, the following documents must be attached to the delivery specifications in addition to the submission of the environmental activity research sheet.
- Warranty for non-inclusion of environmentally banned substances in delivered products and in the manufacturing process of the delivered products.
- Chemical content data
- Precision analysis data of each homogeneous substance
When selecting suppliers, we will add the Environment (E) to the conventionally used elements, Quality (Q), Cost (C) and Delivery (D) to evaluate each supplier's environmental conservation activities. We will steadfastly continue our efforts to prevent environmentally banned substances from being mixed in, always keeping the following motto in mind: "do not include, do not mix, do not emit."
Improvements in Fiscal 2007
PFOS (perfluorooctane sulphonate) was newly added to the List of Immediate Prohibition of Use Required Substances in accordance with EU regulations. PFOA (perfluorooctanic acid), which is not included in regulated substances, was determined to be totally eliminated by December 31, 2010 as a reduced use required substance.
We will continue to promote green procurement so that we can manufacture environmentally friendly motors satisfying environmental demands in the world, ahead of the times.
Progress of Green Purchasing
Envelopes using 100% recycled paper, and name cards using kenaf paper
Office Stationery and Furniture
In Headquarters, we are selectively purchasing office stationery and the like such as EcoMark-certified products that are environmentally friendly.
In addition, regarding OA equipment and office furniture, we are explaining our environmental efforts to our suppliers and then preferentially purchasing products meeting Law on Promoting Green Purchasing or their equivalents.
Hybrid company vehicle
Company Vehicles
We are switching public vehicles such as commercial vehicles from gas-powered vehicles to gas-and-electric-powered vehicles (hybrid vehicles).
For large-sized vehicles such as trucks, we are selecting low-emission/low-fuel efficiency certified vehicles at the time of replacing old vehicles with new ones.
Uniform made of ecological material
Uniforms
The uniforms we wear at the Head Office are made of a cotton/poly "pulper eco-mix" blend. Of that polyester, 85% comes from recycled polyethylene bottles. The fabric is antistatic, pleasing in texture and feeling continuously fresh.
