Mabuchi provides young people and many others with opportunities to experience the importance and thrill of making things. This encourages young engineers, who will lead the next generation and promote science development.

Co-Sponsoring a Robot-Building Contes

Mabuchi's Headquarters has cosponsored (supported with grants-in-aid) the College of technology Robot Contest, ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest and NHK University Robocon since 2002. It helps to operate these contests and donates motors.

Activities to Support Scientific Education for Children

We have a permanent exhibition which started in 1983 at the Science Museum (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo). It shows crafts made using motors and introduces the basic principle of a motor and the examples how motors are utilized in our lives in an easy-to-understand way. Also, every year since 2005, we have held a craft-making class for primary school children at the Chiba Museum of Science and Industry (Ichikawa City, Chiba). In addition, considering the recent trend of children moving away from the sciences, we set up the project team for promoting social contribution activities in June 2008 for promoting opportunities for children who will lead the next generation to experience the excitement of, and develop their interest in, the creation (Monodzukuri) and the scientific technology.
The first of the activities was the class held at the head office for fourth-to-six grade primary school children in the local community, called summer holiday craft-making class for children and parents. In the class, our employees served as lecturers and the children and their parents enjoyed making recycle crafts using motors and used products. Our activities for passing on to children the excitement of Monodzukuri also include publication of a craft-making guidebook "Motorization Guide" and free provision of our motors for various craft-making events.

Construction of school buildings / Scholarship system

In support of the idea of the Hope Project (*1), Dalian Mabuchi has helped construct primary school buildings in Dalian. It started by "Zhuang He Mabuchi Hope Primary School" in 1996 and was followed by "Wa Fang Dian Mabuchi Hope Primary School" and "Pu Lan Dian Mabuchi Hope Primary School" in 2001 and 2002, respectively. In 2007, Dalian Mabuchi made a donation for the foundation of "Xiu Yan Mabuchi Hope Junior High School" in Xiu Yan Country which is the hometown of many of our employees. Not only helped construct school buildings, but Dalian Mabuchi has been providing its students with opportunities such as to tour our factory, or see and experience the life in urban areas, for example, various transportation facilities.
Dalian Mabuchi established the scholarship system in 1997 for students from primary school to university including those with handicaps who are from needy families, and has been supporting them so that they can focus on their studies to develop their capabilities to be of service to the society. Rural areas are faced with many educational problems. We think that educational support for youth who will lead the next generation is the best social contribution we can make. Also for the sake of the local community which has been supportive of our company, we will continue to conduct educational support activities based on the community.

A project providing children in poverty areas with financial support by company donations and the like, including rebuilding of old primary school buildings in danger of collapsing.
