Actuating Your Dreams

Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd. was born and has grown together with children's dreams. Majority of male adult has memories that during their childhood they used to play with toys such as mini-cars, robots, and locomotives, which were made by tin-can material at that time. In 1947, when the power sources of the movable toys were still coil rewinder and/or flywheels, Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd. was founded and had released the first small D.C. magnet motors to the world's toy industry. In contrast to the coil-rewinder and flywheels, of which activating distance was 10 meters or so, the small D.C .motors had enabled each actuating toys run continuously with one small dry-cell battery. Because of invention of such small D.C. motors, the world's market of battery operated toys had dramatically expanded and had given an excitement to the children in the world.

The motors such as AP35, motor for a toy airplane, FT-series motors for table top slot racing cars, S-1, known as a submarine motors are typical products invented by Mabuchi, and Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd. has continuously grown together with the children's dreams.

In order to comply with the dreams of children in the world, we have been constantly working and thinking how to supply to the children the high-performance small DC motors at the most inexpensive cost. In 1960, Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd. started manufacturing consumer-oriented small D.C. motors, and such company's philosophy has never been changed since the company's foundation. Namely, Mabuchi's management philosophy is "Contributing to International Society and Continuously Increasing that Contribution." We Mabuchi had been and will be challenging technology development for responding to people's dreams and for smooth supply of high-performance small D.C. motors at the least possible price.

Now, along with the beginning of the new century, the dream of developing robots has been expanded and penetrated. We are of the confidence that the time will come when robots play a role as a partner of human beings at homes and in various fields such as medical treatment or manufacturing site. Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd. is yelling for the dreams of developing robots and the dreams of generating ideas for new products and manufacturing the products. We participate in pursuing dreams through development of the high-performance and inexpensive small D.C. motors.

Outline of Event

The International Robot Games Festival Kanagawa 2001 is an international event under the theme "robots." This event presents various robots such as two-leg walking robots or robots for competitions.
