The purpose of the Award is to conserve the global environment and to improve the energy saving effects by awarding the building that obtained a remarkable result in the fields of the reduction of the effects on the environment and the energy saving through the cooperation of the owner, designer and builder and also that has the potentiality to promote such effects. Furthermore, it aims to improve and promote the design technology, the construction technology and the operational management technology in these fields.
The design concept of Mabuchi Head Quarter was that the building should be both physically and spatially integrated with the goal of the maximization of the creation and the cooperation. The concepts were implemented in the form of the building with the very large space and the three dimensional One-Office. Furthermore, from functional aspects, the concepts of "personal and harmony", "immobilization and flexibility", "simplicity and sophistication" and "comfort and saving" were achieved in a balanced manner and allowed significant productivity improvement.
The building was highly valued for its longer lasting nature, adaptability to various environments and realization of providing high-quality working environment and these factors led it to the award this time.
